China Investment Panel at the Tech London Advocates Investor Showcase 2.0
Tech London Advocate hosted the largest private sector tech event of 2019 dedicated to the biggest questions facing tech investors, entrepreneurs and tech businesses. The event took place on 2 May 2019 at Here East, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, London. It brought together over 650 attendees from the UK tech community, which includes start-ups, scale-ups, corporates, financial and academic institutions, investors, government representatives and industry bodies.

Kaitlin Zhang spoke on the ‘China Focus: The Rise of Asian Investment’ panel alongside Russ Shaw, founder of Tech London Advocates and Global Tech Advocates and John Zai, founder of CENTI. The panel was moderated by Oli Barrett MBE.

Kaitlin's advice to UK tech firms looking to enter the Chinese market are:
Demonstrate that you understand the Chinese business environment,
Work with a bi-cultural team with Chinese business expertise,
Understand Chinese intellectual property law.
Kaitlin adds that one of the great areas to get into China is through smart cities projects on mobility, big data, AI and machine learning etc. Brand Britain is strong in China and many Chinese investors are looking at post-Brexit opportunities to work with UK firms.
