Branding Expert Kaitlin Zhang teaches Civil Servants How to Maximise their Personal Impact

On 15 March 2019, branding consultant Kaitlin Zhang hosted a workshop titled ‘Maximising Personal Impact Online’ for UK civil servants. In attendance were more than 50 civil servants from different departments of the UK Cabinet Office. The event was organised as a part of the Civil Service Local program and it was hosted at the HM Treasury.

The aim of the workshop was to teach civil servants the tools they need to proactively manage their online reputation so they can maximise their personal impact.

Kaitlin demonstrated the importance of a strong personal brand online, which offers numerous benefits to a person’s life and career. These can help one to be more credible and attract better opportunities. For civil servants, protecting their online reputation is especially important.

In this highly interactive workshop, Kaitlin spoke on how to manageonline presence through a simple 5-steps process:

1. Pitch

Perfectingbrand positioning and elevator pitches.

2. Profile

Makingfirst impressions count with winning profile photos and videos.

3. Platform

Yourpersonal website is your best sales person.

4. Produce

Beinga thought leader with social media and content marketing.

5. Partnership

Leveraging the power of brand partners and media partners.

Inaddition, Kaitlin spoke on how to rank higher on Google searches, includingGoogle images, Google video and Google news. She also shared her top tips toprotecting online privacy and security.

At the end of the workshop, the group of participants had:

-A clear vision for their brand positioning,

-Personal mission’s statement and elevator pitches,

-Personalised social media strategy,

-Personalised content marketing strategy.
