Guest Speaker Kaitlin Zhang on Personal Branding at Hipsters Hackers & Hustlers #SpeedPitch

On Mon 5 June 2017, I had the privilege of being the guest speaker at the legendary Hipsters Hackers & Hustlers (HHH) monthly #SpeedPitch event, where attendees get 30 seconds to pitch their business, ideas and talents. It is London’s original and definitely the BEST co-founder dating and speed pitching event.

Perfect networking for startups, you say?

We certainly think so. Ever since I stood on stage for the longest (and yet somehow shortest) 30 seconds of my life last year, I had to come back to this stage. Now I’m returning as a guest speaker, delivering a 20 minutes speech about personal branding and online reputation management, topics that are central to the success of any hipster, hacker or hustler. I talked about why personal branding online matters and the 5 Steps To Build Your Personal Brand Online.

#SpeedPitch is the best and most entertaining rapid fire event in the London tech calendar. Ironically, if you go on for too long, you’ll get the water pistol treatment. So come prepared and time your pitch to 30 seconds or less.

Watch this short video to get an idea of what the pitches look like and how to make yours stand out from the crowd.

Hope to see you next month.

About Hipsters Hackers & Hustlers (HHH)

"To inspire, educate and support tech startups to become fully fledged, successful businesses by providing them with innovative events, valuable resources, useful products and services, powerful introductions and all with a giant dollop of fun."

Hipsters, Hackers & Hustlers came out of a need that originated in a Meetup group called 'Developers & Entrepreneurs' which was and still is designed to help entrepreneurs find developers (and vice-versa) to co-found new start-ups.  The group grew and continues to grow really rapidly and now has a membership of nearly 5000 people, mostly made up of, yep, you've guessed it, developers and entrepreneurs. Nothing wrong with that we hear you say, and you'd be right, but it did lead to cries of 'What about us?' from all the investors, marketers, designers and others looking to get involved in the group. In response, we decided to expand our activities to other start-up related initiatives and to include a wider audience who also have an interest and/or are involved in the start-up scene. And to be as all-inclusive as we could, we decided to rename our community, calling it: ‘Hipsters, Hackers and Hustlers’ after what Rei Inamoto said about this being the perfect trio with which to create a successful team.
